My favorite movie

My favorite movie is The Day After Tomorrow. The actors are Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ian Holm, and Emmy Rossum. The director is Roland Emmerich. This movie was released in 2004. This movie is about global warming. In Tokyo, hailstones as big as golf ball fell. Los Angeles took a direct hit from huge tornadoes. New York was ravaged by torrential rains and tsunami. Then, the earth appeared to be in an ice age.

This movie represents love. My favorite characters are Sam and Jack. Jack is Sam’s father, so he left for New York due to rescue his son. On his way to New York, he lost his colleague, and his colleague said to Jack “Don’t give up!” before he passed away. His words made Jack feel that he must rescue his son, so he reached New York and met his son. I think Jack loves not only Sam but also his colleague. If the earth appeared to be in an ice age, everyone wants to escape from their country with their family, friends, and lovers.

Tokyo appears in this movie, but it is not real Tokyo. There are many signs in Tokyo, but signs are written in Chinese. This movie represents Tokyo which is far from modern. I wanted the director of this movie to come to Tokyo before he produced this movie. Also, I wanted Japanese actor to play the part of an office worker.

There are many realistic portrayals in this movie, such as hailstones, tornadoes, torrential rains, and tsunami. I think that there is a high possibility of unusual weather because of global warming. This movie makes everyone ponder over global warming and unusual weather. If we watch this movie, we may try to limit emissions of carbon dioxide.

I like this movie, because this movie aroused my interest in environment problems. I stopped letting the water run, when I wash my face. I began to treasure resources after I watched this movie. This movie tells us “people can’t beat nature”. We should get along with nature for living on the earth. I think that we have to give environment problems more careful consideration.

The day after tomorrow is one of my favorite movies as well! I think this movie did make people think about the environment problem.

if the same situation happens in the real world, do you think you could survive?

To EJ
I think that I can't survive, because I don't have knowledge about the earth appeared to be in an ice age. Also, many people are likely to panic, so we can't escape safe area quickly.

Who played the part of Japanese office workers in this movie? Chinese actors? Americans?

I don't know an actor who played the part of Japanese office worker. I think that the actor is Chinese-American actor.
