Top three tourist spots in France

I studied French during my first year of university, but I can’t speak French. It is very difficult for me to understand French, because French has feminine nouns and masculine nouns. However, I want to go to France, because France is attractive for me. There are beautiful spots in France. I will introduce the top three tourist spots in France which I want to go.

No.1 spot is Mont-Saint Michel. I want to go there very much, because it is similar to Miyajima. They are islands floating on the ocean, so Normandy is a sister city of Hatsukaichi. Mont-Saint Michel is a beautiful and magical island. There are cloister, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Mont-Saint Michel has traces of the middle ages, so I recommend there the best.

No.2 spot is the Eiffel Tower. I want to go there, because it is the symbol of Paris. The Eiffel Tower is 324m and built for Paris Expo in 1889. The Eiffel Tower is wave tower, also representative of Paris monument. It is referred to as “Lady of Iron”, and we can enjoy a splendid view of Paris. At night, the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated from sunset to 12 p.m.

No.3 spot is Champs-Elysees. I want to go there, because I can enjoy shopping. There are restaurants, cafés, movie theaters, and show houses. The place which I want to go the most is Louis Vuitton shop. I like Louis Vuitton, so I want to go there and enjoy shopping. If I am tired during shopping, I can get rest at a café. Champs-Elysees is a one-stop street.

If I go to France, I want to go to these 3 spots. Now, I write my graduation thesis about French, so I am interested in France. Japanese think that France is very fashionable, so many Japanese women have Louis Vuitton bags. In Japanese, there are many French words, such as cafe au lait, éclair, crayon, and so on. Surprisingly, Japan has familiarity with France. I like France very much, and a trip to France is my dream.

In Japan, do you think France has a reputation of being more stylish and sophisticated than Italy?

I think so, because France is birthplace of art. Many famous art works are in Louvre Museum and Orsay Museum. Japanese think France is fashionable country.

I'd like to visit France too.

I was told that French people might not be nice to you if you cannot speak French. How do you think? Will this kind of think happen?

To EJ
I heard French people take a great deal of pride in being French people. If we speak English in France, they get a little huffed. However, someone says French people began to speak English to tourists, so I think we can have a talk in English with French people.
